Argan, Inc. has expanded its Teledata segment into New England through its subsidiary Southern Maryland Cable's acquisition of ValCor Communications, a Connecticut-based provider of network installation, maintenance, and repair services. The deal closed on July 31, 2026, with total initial consideration of approximately $8.3 million, funded by a combination of cash and Argan common stock. ValCor, established in 1997, serves defense, aerospace, and technology clients with relationships spanning over two decades, giving SMC immediate access to a premier customer base in the region. Argan's CEO David Watson said the bolt-on acquisition provides reach that would have taken years to build organically, while SMC's CEO Brian Orlandi noted the complementary fit and commitment to investing in the ValCor team.
