Armed man arrested at Trump golf course hours before US leader’s fundraiser

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office has forwarded the case file of an armed man arrested at President Donald Trump’s golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes to the county district attorney’s office, just hours before Trump was scheduled to attend a Republican National Committee fundraising dinner at the same venue. The suspect, 38-year-old Jeanine John Taille, was taken into custody on Sunday after federal agents spotted him taking photos and recording video inside the golf course grounds, apparently surveilling security planning activities. Officers found a magazine loaded with hollow-point rounds in his pocket, and a loaded handgun with one round in the chamber plus another full magazine in his vehicle. Taille has been charged with carrying a concealed firearm and possessing armor-piercing or prohibited ammunition, and is being held without bail. Later, sheriff’s investigators together with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force searched his home, uncovering an illegally modified rifle, handguns, a bulletproof vest, high-capacity magazines, a large quantity of ammunition, and several notebooks containing writings that authorities assessed as suspicious and concerning. Taille is also under investigation by the El Segundo Police Department as a suspect in a robbery case.
