Asian stocks ended mixed on Thursday, with technology stocks rallying in South Korea and Japan as robust earnings from Micron and Qualcomm helped ease concerns over AI demand. The Nikkei average surged 4.61 percent to 72,366.34, while the Kospi index jumped 5.42 percent to close at 8,930.30. Seoul stocks led regional gains as semiconductor stocks surged, with SK Hynix soaring more than 13 percent after announcing plans for a Nasdaq listing worth $29.4 billion. In China, the Shanghai Composite index edged up 0.23 percent to 4,120.28, but Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 1.43 percent to 23,076.91, dragged down by a 4.4 percent slump in Alibaba Group Holdings shares. Australian markets fell notably after stronger-than-expected jobs data kept the door open for further rate hikes, with the S&P/ASX 200 dropping 0.68 percent to 8,748.70.
