Asian stocks close higher, KOSPI and Nikkei surge on US-Iran deal hopes

Asian stocks closed higher across the region today, with South Korea's KOSPI surging 3.76% to close at 6,598.26 points and Japan's Nikkei jumping 3.66% to close at 66,300.44 points, led by technology shares. China's Shanghai Composite rose 1.47% to close at 3,878.43 points, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng edged up 0.24% to close at 25,915.82 points. Markets were supported by hopes that the US and Iran may be close to a deal to open the Strait of Hormuz, along with strong corporate earnings and a rally in US stocks the previous day.
