South Korea's Kospi index recovered 0.5% to 8,241.23 after a 10% decline on Tuesday, with Samsung Electronics up 3.7% following a 12.3% plummet, while SK Hynix fell 3.6%. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 lost 1.1% to 68,991.77 after falling 3.6% on Tuesday, and Taiwan's Taiex fell 2.5%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng edged up 0.1% to 23,364.72, the Shanghai Composite index was down 0.3% to 4,096.14, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 traded 0.1% higher at 8,797.00. The declines followed a 1.4% drop in the S&P 500 and a 2.2% fall in the Nasdaq composite, with Micron Technology sinking 13.2% and Nvidia losing more than 4.1%. Oil prices fell early Wednesday, with Brent crude down 0.7% to $76.30 a barrel and benchmark U.S. crude down 0.7% to $72.70 a barrel, as more ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz amid progress in U.S.-Iran talks.
