BAFS, or Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Public Company Limited, stated that in light of the situation involving oil contamination in the drainage system along Fuel Road and beneath the elevated Rama III Road overpass at the boundary between Khlong Toei and Yan Nawa districts, BAFS Pipeline Transportation Company Limited, or BPT, as the operator of the oil pipeline transportation system, is giving the matter priority and monitoring the situation closely and continuously, and is ready to cooperate with all sectors, both public and private, in analysing the cause and expediting concrete solutions, with the safety of the community and the environment as the foremost concern. If the investigation finds that any cause or damage falls within the scope of the company's responsibility, the company is ready to accept responsibility for the damage incurred under its insurance policies. BPT owns the oil pipeline transportation system running from the Bangchak refinery to the Chong Nonsi oil depot and along the route to the Don Mueang aviation fuel depot, the Suvarnabhumi aviation fuel depot, and the ground oil depot at the Bang Pa-in oil depot. At the area where the incident occurred, which is one of the sections along that pipeline route, BPT has granted, for compensation, the rights to use and manage the assets of this oil pipeline system to Bangkok Fuel Pipeline Transportation and Logistics Company Limited, or BFPL, effective from 1 January 2022. Currently, BPT provides multi-products pipeline oil transportation services covering only the northern region of the country, receiving oil from the Bang Pa-in oil depot and forwarding it to the Phichit oil depot and the Nakhon Lampang oil depot.
