Mom Luang Nattasit Diskul, Chief Executive Officer of Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Public Company Limited, or BAFS, disclosed that the oil leak in the Rama 3 area has not affected aviation fuel transport. Its subsidiary, BAFS Pipeline Transportation Company Limited, or BPT, owns the pipeline system that carries oil from the Bangchak refinery to the Chong Nonsi oil depot, a route that passes through the area where the incident occurred, and has granted the rights to use and manage the assets of that pipeline system in return for compensation to Bangkok Fuel Pipeline Transportation and Logistics Company Limited, or BFPL, since January 1, 2022. Upon detecting the leak, oil transport through the pipeline system was halted immediately, and no severe impact on the public, surrounding communities, or the environment has yet appeared. BPT and BFPL are working closely together to investigate and locate the leak point in order to contain the incident, with priority given to the safety of the public and communities. The company stated that all oil companies transporting oil via the pipeline can still manage their transport, with no impact on aviation fuel deliveries to Don Mueang Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport, or on ground fuel transport to the northern region, and that damages remain covered under the insurance policies taken out by BPT and BFPL. The company will notify the Stock Exchange of Thailand of further information if there is any progress that could have a material impact in the future.
