Baidu IncBaidu's Apollo Go launches autonomous driving trials in Switzerland, expanding its global footprint and showcasing its technology.

Baidu’s autonomous ride-hailing service Apollo Go has launched open-road autonomous driving trials in Switzerland through its AmiGo joint venture with Swiss Post’s PostBus. The partnership has received a Level 4 regulatory permit from the Federal Roads Office to operate across an 80-square-kilometer service area in Eastern Switzerland. The trial currently uses Apollo Go’s electric RT6 vehicles with onboard safety operators, with plans to transition to fully driverless operations and launch what the partners aim to be the largest automated public transport service of its kind in Europe by early 2027. Apollo Go has already facilitated over 22 million cumulative rides globally.
