Ålandsbanken AbpBank of Åland plans to open new offices in Haparanda and Luleå, expanding its Swedish operations and cross-border banking.

Bank of Åland Plc announced plans to establish operations in northern Sweden by opening new offices in Haparanda and Luleå, with cross-border services to be offered. The Haparanda office will serve local customers and focus on cross-border banking for individuals and businesses with ties to both Sweden and Finland, while the Luleå office will target Private Banking and Premium Banking clients. These offices will operate within the bank's existing Swedish branch framework and are expected to open around the turn of 2026/2027. The bank already has an office in Oulu, Finland, and aims to leverage its experience serving customers in both countries.
