Bangkok Bank PCLBBL's Q2 2026 profit missed estimates, non-interest income fell, asset quality weakened, and brokers cut targets.

Shares of Bangkok Bank, or BBL, fell 6.25% to 187.50 baht, with trading value of 11.30 billion baht, after the bank reported second-quarter 2026 results that missed market expectations. In particular, non-interest income came in well below forecasts compared with other banks, and gains from selling debt securities investments dropped to 300 million baht from 1.60 billion baht in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, asset quality weakened slightly, pushing the cost-to-income ratio up to 49% from 45% in the prior quarter. On the broker front, Citi lowered its target price to 189 baht from 190 baht, while Kasikorn Securities downgraded its recommendation to hold, seeing limited upside at current levels, though BBL still has strong fundamentals and growth opportunities from corporate lending.
