BBVA reported 11.1% net profit growth and announced a €2 billion share buyback.

BBVA reported a net attributable profit of 6.05 billion euros for the first six months of 2026, an 11.1 percent increase year-over-year, and announced a new 2 billion euros extraordinary share buyback program. The first 1 billion euros tranche of the buyback will begin on August 5. Second quarter net attributable profit rose 11.4 percent to 3.06 billion euros, with net interest income up 22.9 percent to 7.63 billion euros. The bank said it is on track to achieve the financial targets of its 2025-2029 Strategic Plan.
