Bezos plans to sell $4 billion in shares, pressuring the stock despite strong earnings.

Amazon founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos filed a plan to sell 15 million shares valued at about $4.07 billion, according to an SEC notice. The filing came after Amazon's market capitalization passed $3 trillion for the first time on Monday, with the stock hitting a 52-week high of $287.20 following second-quarter results. Amazon reported net sales up 20% to $200.6 billion, AWS growing 37% to $42.2 billion, and advertising rising 26% to $19.8 billion. Capital expenditure reached $54.2 billion, and CEO Andy Jassy said full-year capex would rise to $220 billion. Amazon shares dropped 2.08% in premarket trading.
