The Boeing CompanySecured commitment for 100 737 MAX aircraft from SMBC Aviation Capital
Boeing and Airbus each secured commitments for 100 narrowbody jets from SMBC Aviation Capital on the first day of the Farnborough International Airshow. SMBC ordered 100 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft, including 65 A321neos and 35 A320neos, and separately committed to 100 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Aviation Capital Group agreed to lease seven Boeing 737-10 aircraft to Japan's Skymark Airlines, with deliveries starting in 2028. On the engine side, Jackson Square Aviation selected Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engines for an undisclosed number of Airbus A320neo-family jets. The day also featured defense and electric aviation highlights, including BETA Technologies unveiling the MV250 hybrid-electric autonomous vertical takeoff and landing aircraft for military logistics, and Vertical Aerospace completing what it described as the first public eVTOL transition flight at the show.
