The Board of Investment (BOI) has approved Nestlé (Thailand) Co., Ltd.'s expansion of its pet food production base at Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong Province, with a total investment of over 6.4 billion baht. This includes a pet food production project valued at approximately 4.5 billion baht and a pet treats production project valued at approximately 1.93 billion baht. Both projects emphasize the use of domestic raw materials primarily for export, with a total raw material value of over 450 million baht per year. Over 90 percent of the output will be exported to the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. This investment comes amid rising global demand for pet food, with Thailand being the world's second-largest pet food exporter, after Germany, and the industry growing by more than 8 percent annually. Combined with the previously approved coffee factory project, Nestlé's new investments in Thailand in 2026 will total over 29 billion baht, covering both coffee and pet food businesses, which will generate income for Thai farmers through the use of domestic raw materials worth over 4.7 billion baht per year.
