The government has revealed that in the first half of 2026, actual investment under BOI promotion reached 535.8 billion baht, up 27% from the same period last year. In particular, the second quarter saw actual investment of over 250 billion baht. This investment has created more than 630,000 jobs for Thai people, with over 60% in advanced electronics, automotive, digital, automation, and robotics industries. Of this, investment in AI-related and advanced electronics businesses exceeded 127 billion baht, covering optical signal transmission equipment, electronic circuit boards, high-capacity hard disk drives, AI servers, and digital infrastructure. The Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office stated that these figures represent actual investment, not just promotion applications. BOI will drive three key approaches: developing the smart electronics industry ecosystem, upgrading the manufacturing sector with digital technology, automation, and clean energy, and linking investment with human resource development, Thai entrepreneurs, technology transfer, and research and development. It will also push Thai entrepreneurs into the supply chains of the semiconductor, smart electronics, AI, and future automotive industries.
