BP PLCNew CEO pledges stability, accountability, and restructuring to restore investor confidence after leadership turmoil.

BP's new chief executive Meg O'Neill has pledged to make the oil giant 'predictable' again after a period of boardroom chaos. In a LinkedIn post marking her first 100 days in the role, O'Neill said she wants to 'hardwire high performance' into the company and deliver 'safe, reliable, cost-efficient operations every single day'. She took over in April as BP's third boss in little more than two years, following the unexpected ousting of predecessor Murray Auchincloss in December and the resignation of Bernard Looney over undisclosed workplace relationships. O'Neill also promised 'sharper accountability' and 'less complexity', having already split the business into upstream and downstream operations, and acknowledged the downstream division had lost strong leadership in recent years.
