BP PLCBP deputy chief Carol Howle exits in latest shock resignation

BP deputy chief executive Carol Howle has quit just three months into the role, with HR vice president Kerry Dryburgh also leaving after 16 years. Chief executive Meg O'Neill said Howle led the company through a critical transitional phase and that the deputy chief executive role will not be replaced. The departures add to upheaval at the FTSE 100 oil major, following the recent dismissal of chairman Albert Manifold over behaviour concerns and the exit of gas and low-carbon head William Lin. Company secretary Ben Mathews is on medical leave for stress. BP shares fell 1% on the news.
