Broadcom IncBroadcom guides AI semiconductor revenue to $230B by 2028, up from ~$65B annualized, with custom AI chip clients Alphabet, Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic.

Broadcom CEO Hock Tan has guided the company's annual AI semiconductor revenue to reach $230 billion in its fiscal 2028, up from $16.7 billion in the third quarter, an annualized pace of just over $65 billion. Tan's earlier forecast, made in late 2024, projected AI revenue of $60 billion to $90 billion in 2027, but Broadcom now projects $115 billion in AI revenue for that year, making the original guidance a major underestimate. Broadcom's custom AI chip business, known as application-specific integrated circuits, counts Alphabet, Meta Platforms, OpenAI, and Anthropic among its clients. Tan said the company has secured the supply chain necessary to meet that demand. Wall Street analysts estimate Broadcom's total revenue will be $106 billion this fiscal year, leaving $41 billion in non-AI revenue if the AI projection holds.
