Broadcom IncQ3 beat and guidance raise were too modest to satisfy investors expecting Nvidia-like AI strength.
Broadcom's third-quarter earnings beat was not enough to keep investors happy, according to StoneX Financial analyst Cody Acree. The company modestly beat estimates by $300 million and raised guidance by just over $120 million, with EPS coming in 10 cents above expectations. Acree noted that after Nvidia's strong results, investors expected similar strength from Broadcom, but the magnitude of the beat and raise was insufficient for a company so leveraged to AI. He also highlighted concerns about Marvell's expanded partnership with Google, which could take design dollars away from Broadcom in the future, and noted increasing competition from Qualcomm, Arm, and MediaTek in custom silicon.
