Broadcom shares climbed nearly 3% Tuesday as investors weighed a forecast for rapid expansion in its artificial intelligence chip business. The semiconductor maker expects AI-related chip revenue to more than double in fiscal 2027 and increase again in fiscal 2028. The outlook follows a strong fiscal second quarter, with revenue up 48% year over year to $22.2 billion and net income up 88%. AI chips now account for more than 60% of Broadcom's revenue, and the company's net profit margin exceeds 40%. Despite the expansion, Broadcom shares have gained only about 6% in 2026, compared with a 13% advance for the S&P 500, and trade at roughly 19 times forward earnings.
