The elevation follows Broadcom's recent contribution of Velero, a Kubernetes-native backup, restore and migration platform, to the CNCF Sandbox. Broadcom has been a top three contributor to Kubernetes over the past decade and originated projects such as Harbor, Antrea, Velero, and Contour. CNCF executive director Jonathan Bryce said Broadcom plays an important role in the ecosystem, from contributing projects to helping organizations operate complex cloud native environments. Broadcom senior director Dilpreet Bindra stated the Platinum membership helps fortify the open technologies teams depend on to operate Kubernetes environments with confidence.
