The Cabinet, on 22 September 2026, approved the appointment of Ms. Salakjit Pongsirichan, Advisor on Tax Collection Strategy for the Financial and Banking Transactions Group at the Revenue Department, as the new Director-General of the Revenue Department, succeeding Mr. Somsak Anantawat, who retired from government service in the position of Advisor on Tax Collection Strategy. Ms. Salakjit oversees key units, namely the Central Tax Audit Office, the Large Business Tax Administration Office, and the Investigation and Litigation Office. She previously served as Deputy Director-General of the Revenue Department in 2020 and as Director of the Tax Audit Standards Office in the same year. In 2024, she held the position of Advisor on Strategy for the Financial and Banking Transactions Group. Ms. Salakjit graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Ramkhamhaeng University in 1991, a Bachelor of Laws from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University in 2012, and completed the Senior Executive Program, Class 92, in 2020.
