Capital Group Growth ETF returned roughly 11% over the trailing twelve months, trailing the S&P 500’s 21% and the Nasdaq-100’s 25% despite heavy exposure to NVIDIA, Meta, Tesla, and Broadcom. NVIDIA reported Q1 FY27 revenue of $82 billion, up 85% year over year, while Meta delivered Q1 2026 revenue of $56 billion, up 33% year over year. The fund’s 0.39% expense ratio and low turnover of around 16% meant it could not keep pace with cheaper passive growth ETFs from Vanguard and Schwab, which returned about 17% and 18% respectively. Since early 2022, CGGR’s roughly 90% return is competitive with passive peers, but the recent underperformance raises questions about the value of its active management for pure megacap exposure.
