Caterpillar IncRecord revenue and backlog growth driven by strong demand across all segments.

Caterpillar reported second-quarter 2026 sales and revenues of $20.5 billion, up 24% from a year earlier and the first time the company has exceeded $20 billion in a single quarter. Adjusted profit per share rose 73% to $8.17, while backlog grew sequentially by $9 billion to a record $72 billion. The company raised its full-year 2026 sales and revenues growth forecast to mid- to high teens, citing strong demand across all three primary segments, and now expects adjusted operating profit margin near the bottom of its target range excluding one-time tariff recoveries. Caterpillar also increased its full-year machinery, energy and transportation free cash flow expectation to the top half of its $6 billion to $15 billion annual target range.
