Yang Te, an official from China's National Development and Reform Commission, revealed on Xinhua News Agency's China Economic Roundtable that China will focus on six key areas to drive high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, covering 2026 to 2030. The country will enhance coordination to improve people's well-being, expand domestic demand, and strengthen the domestic market. It will also cultivate new growth drivers and upgrade the economic structure through innovation, while bolstering economic security to safeguard food, energy, resources, and industrial and supply chains. In addition, China will advance reforms, expand openness, promote urban-rural and regional development, and accelerate the green transition. China's economy grew 4.7 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2026, with a full-year growth target of 4.5 to 5 percent.
