China's National Bureau of Statistics released June economic indicators on the 15th, showing industrial output growth accelerated to 5.3% year-on-year, while retail sales turned positive with a 1.0% increase. Industrial output expanded from a 4.5% rise in May, also beating analyst expectations of a 4.7% gain. Retail sales swung back to growth from a 0.6% decline in May, recovering from the first contraction in over three years. Meanwhile, fixed asset investment for January to June fell 5.7%, a steeper drop than the 4.1% decline in the first five months, and worse than the market forecast of a 4.9% decrease.
