Chubb LtdChubb launched a $400M marine war-risk insurance facility for Hormuz, boosting demand for its insurance products.

Chubb CEO Evan Greenberg said shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is expected to increase gradually as U.S. efforts to secure the waterway continue, though significant risks remain. Speaking on Fox News, Greenberg described conditions as highly fluid and noted that mines are the greatest uncertainty, with only a narrow channel currently in use. He said the Navy is working to open broader channels, which would allow more ships to transit. To address heightened risks, Lloyd's of London and Chubb recently launched a $400 million marine war-risk insurance facility covering voyages through Hormuz, and Chubb is participating in a separate U.S.-backed reinsurance program.
