Circle Internet Group, Inc.Analyst downgrade cites competitive threat from Open Standard venture backed by Stripe, Coinbase, BlackRock, and Visa's stablecoin platform launch.

Mizuho Securities USA analyst Dan Dolev downgraded Circle Internet Group from neutral to underperform and set a Street-low price target of $50, implying roughly 18% downside from Thursday's close. Circle shares have already fallen more than 75% from their post-IPO highs and declined 7.7% on Thursday after Visa launched a stablecoin platform. Dolev flagged the Open Standard venture, backed by over 100 firms including Stripe, Coinbase Global, and BlackRock, as a major competitive threat to Circle's USDC stablecoin. He also warned that Circle's distribution agreement with Coinbase is up for renegotiation in August, which could pressure economics further. Dolev projects Circle's adjusted EBITDA will reach $699 million in 2027, well below the $907 million consensus estimate.
