CK Power Public Company LimitedCKP started COD of a 5 MW solar project with BEM and saw higher hydropower output boosting electricity sales.
CK Power (CKP) anticipates growth in the second half of the year, having commenced commercial operation (COD) of a 5-megawatt solar project in September in partnership with Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM), to boost renewable energy capacity in its portfolio. Meanwhile, water flow through the Xayaburi hydropower plant in the first half was 17.7% higher than the same period last year, leading to an 11.2% increase in electricity sales. The company expects the Mekong River water situation to remain favorable for Xayaburi Power (XPCL) in the fourth quarter, particularly with high water discharge from upstream China expected from October to early November. For Nam Ngum 2 (NN2), usable water volume at the end of July stood at 32.53% of capacity, with expectations of an increase during the rainy season. Meanwhile, Bang Pa-in Cogeneration (BIC) has returned to full capacity operation after maintenance in the first quarter. All these factors are expected to support the overall growth of the energy portfolio.
