French container shipping giant CMA CGM has signed a preliminary agreement with China Communications Construction to expand cooperation in port infrastructure, logistics, transportation services, and low-carbon supply chains. The memorandum, signed in Shenzhen, focuses on Africa, China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. The two groups have built existing relationships through subsidiaries such as China Harbor Engineering, working on multiple port projects including in Nigeria and Cameroon, and this partnership builds on that foundation.
