Coherent IncRecord backlog and multi-year customer commitments extending to 2030 drive growth.
Coherent Corp. is experiencing a step function increase in its order book, pushing its backlog to record levels and prompting $290 million in capital expenditures, more than double the growth from the year-ago quarter. Customer orders stretch into 2028 and long-term agreements extend to 2030, providing heightened revenue visibility that de-risks the expansion. NVIDIA's $2 billion equity investment helped raise Coherent's cash balance to $3 billion in the third quarter of fiscal 2026 from $1.5 billion in the prior quarter. The company also wiped out $162 million in debt payments in a single quarter, reducing its leverage ratio to 0.5X from 1.7X. Coherent's stock has rallied 427.6% over the past year, and the Zacks Consensus Estimate for its fiscal 2026 and 2027 earnings has increased 1.5% and 11.9%, respectively, over the past 60 days.
