The company achieved a 55 percent reduction in electricity per consumed byte from a 2019 baseline, dropping from 18.4 kilowatt-hours per terabyte to 8.2 kilowatt-hours per terabyte by 2025. Even as data traffic surged 89 percent, total electricity usage fell 15 percent through AI integration, network virtualization, and facility modernization. The milestone was driven by virtualizing the cable modem termination system, deploying smart thermostats, and embedding AI for predictive network management.
