The drug is registered as a Category 2.3 traditional Chinese medicine, representing an expansion of therapeutic indications. Shexiang Tongxin Dropping Pills are an exclusive traditional Chinese medicine variety of the company in China and a national second-class protected traditional Chinese medicine variety. They were approved for marketing in 2008, with the previously approved indication being stable exertional angina pectoris in coronary heart disease.
