CONMED CorporationClinical trial data shows AirSeal superior to competitor's device, supporting product adoption.
CONMED Corporation announced its participation in the Society of Robotic Surgery 2026 Annual Meeting, where Professor Nikhil Vasdev will present results from a clinical trial comparing CONMED's AirSeal Insufflation System to Stryker's PneumoClear Insufflator. The prospective randomized controlled trial of 40 patients undergoing robotic prostatectomy found that the AirSeal arm had fewer significant nociceptive events per recorded hour, 20.7 versus 33.5, with a p-value of 0.041. Shorter procedure times, console times, and less blood loss were also observed in the AirSeal arm. The results were published in JUI Compass in May 2026. CONMED will also host a session on low-pressure insufflation in robotic surgery featuring several surgeons.
