Constellation Energy CorpConstellation signs long-term nuclear power supply deal with Walmart, securing demand for 176 MW from Dresden plant.
Constellation Energy has entered a long-term agreement to supply nuclear power to Walmart, marking one of the first such deals between a major US retailer and a nuclear energy provider. Under the deal, Walmart will purchase approximately 176 megawatts of electricity from Constellation's Dresden Clean Energy Center in Illinois, including 30 megawatts from planned plant upgrades, under two 15-year contracts starting in 2029 and 2030. The agreement supports efficiency upgrades at the Dresden plant, allowing increased output without new generation capacity. The stock has declined around 8% over the past month, trading near 52-week lows, partly due to conservative 2026 guidance, but analysts' average price target suggests roughly 40% upside.
