Company fails to meet Prime Market criteria, leading to downgrade to Standard Market, which may reduce visibility and investor appeal.
Daiko Pharmaceutical announced on the 25th that its board of directors resolved to apply for a market segment change from the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market to the Standard Market. The company judged that devoting management resources to continuously meet Prime Market criteria is not appropriate from the perspective of long-term management strategy and maximizing shareholder value, and that the Standard Market is more suitable. The company found that as of the end of December 2023 it did not meet the market capitalization of tradable shares, one of the Prime Market listing maintenance criteria, and submitted a plan to achieve compliance in March 2024. As a result of implementing various measures, it confirmed compliance with all criteria as of the end of December 2024. However, as of the end of December 2025 it again breached the same criterion, and in March 2026 it announced that it had entered an improvement period.
