Daiwa House Industry announced on the 24th that its subsidiary Daiwa Lantech had falsified data in ground investigation reports. Between October 2012 and March 2025, 816 cases of misconduct were confirmed, mainly in the Tohoku region and Hokkaido. The issue came to light after road subsidence occurred at a customer's property in May last year, revealing that a person in charge at the North Japan sales office had manipulated test data. Daiwa House has established an external investigation committee and aims to complete a full investigation by December, pledging to work on preventing recurrence and strengthening governance.
