Yushu TechnologyUnitree's IPO receives investment from DeepSeek, with strategic partnership for AI-humanoid robots.

Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has invested 140.8 million yuan, equivalent to $20.8 million, in robot maker Unitree as part of Unitree's Shanghai initial public offering. DeepSeek received 933,399 Unitree shares, representing 2.31% of the shares allocated through the IPO's strategic placement. The two Hangzhou-based companies agreed to jointly develop AI models for humanoid robots, combining DeepSeek's AI expertise with Unitree's mechanical engineering and motion control capabilities. Under the partnership, Unitree will give preference to DeepSeek when procuring model-training services, while DeepSeek will favor Unitree for robot purchases and embodied-AI applications. The collaboration aims to address the challenge of building a robot brain that can understand unfamiliar environments and translate instructions into physical actions, potentially providing DeepSeek with robots and real-world data to advance its vision-language research.
