Del Monte Corp. has entered a joint venture in China for the sale of fresh-cut fruit products, partnering with Riverking (Shanghai) Agricultural Technology Development Co., a leading integrated private fruit enterprise. The deal, struck through its Hong Kong subsidiary Del Monte Fresh Produce (HK), targets China's rapidly growing fresh-cut fruit market. In its 2025 annual report, Del Monte noted that Asia accounted for 9% of its total sales of $4.32 billion last year, with fresh and value-added products generating $2.62 billion and bananas $1.49 billion. President and COO Mohammed Abbas said the partnership gives Del Monte a strong platform to deepen its foothold across Asia. Riverking, founded in 2003, operates 11 distribution centers in China and has offices in South America, Australia, New Zealand, North America, and Thailand.
