Novo Nordisk A/SDenmark's growth forecast raised due to expanding pharmaceutical exports, driven by Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and weight-loss drug market.
Denmark's Ministry of Taxation and Economic Growth on the 27th raised its forecast for gross domestic product (GDP) growth in 2026 to 3.7%. The previous forecast in May was 2.7%. Minister for Taxation and Economic Growth Jakob Engel-Schmidt said in a statement that growth is mainly driven by expanding pharmaceutical exports, most of which are related to the U.S. market. The global market for weight-loss drugs is expanding, and Novo Nordisk launched its new oral drug, Wegovy, earlier this year. The ministry also raised its 2027 GDP growth forecast from 1.6% to 1.8%. The central bank had expected growth of 1.8% for both 2026 and 2027 in March.
