Ms. Nann Bunnathida Somchai, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society, confirmed that the TH-AI Passport project is ready for scrutiny by relevant agencies at every stage, but that any review must be based on facts, not imagination. This follows Ms. Karadee Leopairoj, deputy leader of the Democrat Party, submitting a letter to the Office of the Auditor General requesting an investigation into the transparency of the project. The DES deputy minister stated that projects using a budget exceeding 1 billion baht must be referred to the Comptroller General's Department to determine whether they must enter the integrity pact process, and the Comptroller General's Department has already replied in writing to the agency that the TH-AI Passport project does not meet the criteria requiring an integrity pact. As for the allegation of inflating registration numbers, the DES deputy minister views it as a very serious accusation and would not be surprised if legal action follows. She insisted that registration requires a digital ID via ThaiD of the Department of Provincial Administration or the Thang Rath application of the Digital Government Development Agency, so numbers cannot be inflated without clear evidence. She also stated that if registrations really were being inflated, there would already be 5 million registrants, and urged verification of registration figures against active users on the project's website and the DES Ministry's social media channels.
