Domestic gold price surges 1,900 baht at market open, gold ornaments hit 67,950 baht

The domestic gold price opened on the morning of August 6, rising by 1,900 baht per baht-weight from yesterday's close. Gold ornaments were sold at 67,950 baht per baht-weight and bought back at 65,612.48 baht, while gold bars were sold at 67,150 baht and bought back at 66,950 baht. Meanwhile, the global spot gold price surged more than 4% to 4,252.74 dollars per ounce, according to CNBC, supported by a weaker US dollar and falling bond yields, along with expectations for ceasefire talks between the US and Iran, and US private-sector employment data that slowed more than expected.
