Dongcheng Pharmaceutical announced that the marketing application for its active pharmaceutical ingredient bemiparin sodium has been accepted by the National Medical Products Administration. Bemiparin sodium is an ultra-low-molecular-weight heparin obtained by depolymerization of porcine-derived heparin sodium, and it is currently marketed in more than 60 countries worldwide. Compared with other low-molecular-weight heparins, it has a smaller molecular weight and a higher anti-Xa to anti-IIa ratio. The corresponding finished product, bemiparin sodium injection, is indicated for preventing extracorporeal circuit clotting during hemodialysis, and for preventing thromboembolic disease in patients undergoing general surgery and orthopedic surgery.
