A Bitcoin wallet dormant for eight years has moved its entire balance of 5,908 Bitcoin, worth nearly $383 million, in a single transaction. Blockchain intelligence firm Lookonchain flagged the transfer, noting the coins were originally acquired when Bitcoin traded at $16,865, and at current prices near $64,700 the position has gained roughly $283 million, a 284 percent increase. The destination address is not yet known to be an exchange, and the market is watching whether the coins will be sold or simply moved for security or custodial reasons. Analysts note that such large dormant transfers draw heightened caution during periods of weak demand, but the holder’s history of weathering multiple cycles makes a distressed sale less likely.
