Caterpillar jumped 5.6%, providing the biggest boost to the Dow, after raising its revenue outlook, driven by AI data center construction. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index surged 6.6%, extending gains for a fourth day. Meanwhile, WTI crude oil prices tumbled more than 5% after Qatar confirmed that mediation between the US and Iran is ongoing, and the US Treasury Secretary indicated a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be reached soon. As a result, the yield on the 10-year US Treasury note fell to 4.665%, and investors scaled back expectations for a Fed rate hike in September to 56.9% from 67.2%.
