European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde explained that in its medium-term policy management, the ECB aims to bring inflation back to its target level within about three years. Lagarde said she is "not a candidate for any post" regarding political ambitions in France. Earlier this month, she had mentioned the possibility of stepping down as ECB president before her term ends in late 2027 to get involved in French politics, but she now says a run in next spring's French presidential election is "not on the cards at this stage."
