Eight Muslim-majority countries have jointly issued a strong condemnation of the incursion by Israelis into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem, calling it a provocation that violates international law. A joint statement released by the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates denounced Israel's escalating actions, including the intrusion of a large number of Israeli settlers led by a radical minister under the protection of Israeli forces. The eight nations rejected any attempts to alter the historical, legal, and demographic character of East Jerusalem, affirming that the entire Al-Aqsa Mosque compound is a Muslim holy site under the sole administration of the Jerusalem Religious Affairs Department and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs, which falls under Jordan's Ministry of Religious Affairs. They called on Israel to lift restrictions on access to the Old City and to stop obstructing Muslim worshippers, while urging the international community to pressure Israel to end its ongoing violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites.
