Eli Lilly and CompanyEli Lilly joins as founding member to leverage large-scale genomic data and AI for drug target discovery.
Eli Lilly has joined the Illumina Billion Cell Atlas as a founding member, forming an alliance focused on mapping human disease biology using large-scale genomic data and AI-driven drug discovery. The collaboration aims to build a detailed reference of cellular and genetic information across diseases, supporting the discovery of new drug targets. Lilly is plugging into a shared dataset that already covers more than 350 million sequenced cells, with a goal of reaching one billion cells across over 200 disease-relevant cell lines. The initiative may help identify drug targets earlier and surface new indications for existing assets. Eli Lilly's stock is up 51.5% over the past year, with shares at $1,146.9.
