Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Class A Common StockSpaceX's first earnings call highlights strong revenue projections and growth, with CFO projecting $100B annualized run rate and Musk raising trillion-dollar revenue target to 2030.

Elon Musk repeatedly one-upped his executives during SpaceX’s first earnings call, making out-of-this-world claims while his team tried to bring his ideas closer to Earth. Musk predicted Starlink will deliver a majority of the world’s internet in less than 10 years, while COO Gwynne Shotwell later said it will represent a significant portion of global internet traffic. CFO Bret Johnsen carefully projected a trajectory to reach $100 billion in annualized revenue run rate by the end of this year, but Musk bulldozed that by calling it not a question mark and saying it probably will be higher. Musk also moved up the internal projection for reaching a trillion dollars in revenue from 2031 to 2030, with a non-zero chance of 2029, and claimed the Starship heat shield problem is solved. The difference now is that SpaceX is a public company, and ostensibly subject to regulation and fines if the company and its executives make promises they know can't be met.
