Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Class A Common StockMusk highlights robotics as key to SpaceX's future, including satellite autonomy and lunar manufacturing.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk identified robotics as the most underappreciated part of the company's business during its second-quarter earnings call. Musk described all of SpaceX's satellites as autonomous robots that do not need servicing, and he outlined a vision of using robots on the Moon to scale up manufacturing, build a mass accelerator, and potentially expand the economy in space to a thousand times that of Earth. President and COO Gwynne Shotwell added that robotics will dramatically increase demand for connectivity and Starlink, which Musk believes will one day deliver the majority of the world's internet. The comments came as SpaceX reported strong revenue growth and a narrowing operating loss, though capital expenditures of roughly $18.4 billion weighed on the stock.
